Mission Statement
Natural Choices is dedicated to assisting customers
with making informed decisions about individual
health concerns regarding nutritional
supplementation. We strive to provide quality
products, in conjunction with, quality one on one
customer service. Our goal is to provide our
customers with the best food based products that
contain no chemical or synthetic additives at an
affordable price.

Company History |
The company was originally founded in 1989 as Native
Herbs and Natural Foods, it was bought in 2005 by Nell
Cummings who renamed the store to Health Mart at
Pembroke. Since then the store has been in the process
of incorporation, with another name change to Natural
Choices LLC. It is commonly known that 9 out of 10 small
businesses fail. Natural Choices has proved to be the
exception to the rule, by sustaining a profit gain and
customer base for almost 20 years. With new ownership
the business is in the expansion process with plans of
developing a brick and mortar store in Leland, NC and an
e-commerce business at www.naturalchoicesnc.com. The
company has maintained good relations with its current
suppliers, some as long as 10 years.

Our People
Nell Cummings R.N. (owner)
As a 1972 graduate of Pembroke State University,
Nell earned a B.S. Degree in Sociology and an A.A.
in Nursing. After college, Nell began working in
the Social Services field, where she remained until
choosing to enter the medical profession as an
R.N.. After 14 years working as a critical care
nurse at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in Fayetteville;
where for the last two years she served the Cardiac
Program. Nell chose to enter the private sector in
2004. A working philosophy that Nell has maintained
is strict adherence to customer service and
education. “In her words, an educated customer is
one who has been provided with the knowledge to make
healthy choices, thus taking responsibility for
their own health.”
